Jimmy Pierre Louis – Founder/Director, Polk Academy
Jimmy Pierre Louis is a dedicated educator and IT professional with a passion for teaching and technology. With extensive experience in both mathematics education and information systems, he has helped countless students succeed academically while also leveraging his technical expertise to support educational institutions.
His journey in education began in 2018 as a math tutor at Broward College and Palm Beach State College, assisting students from foundational math to advanced calculus. In Spring 2018, he obtained his Advanced Certified Tutor, Level II certification through the International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) offered by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), further solidifying his expertise in academic support. His role expanded in 2020 when he became an embedded tutor, working alongside professors to provide in-classroom support. In 2019, he earned his Florida Teacher Certification for Math 6-12, allowing him to formally teach in public schools.
Jimmy transitioned to K-12 education in 2021 as a math interventionist at Stambaugh Middle School, where he helped struggling students improve their skills. His success led to a role as an 8th-grade Geometry teacher for advanced students, and he also served as a part-time adjunct math professor at Polk State College.
Beyond education, Jimmy is highly skilled in IT. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University. At the end of 2021, he transitioned into educational technology, accepting a Network Manager position at Dixieland Elementary, where he continued supporting students through tech-driven solutions. He is also a certified CompTIA IT Operations Specialist and a certified AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional, demonstrating his expertise in cloud computing, automation, and system optimization.
Through Polk Academy, Jimmy combines his expertise in education and technology to offer high-quality courses, tutoring, and coaching, empowering students and professionals to achieve their goals.
